The latest example is from Katowice, Poland, where it was used at a demonstration on 7th September. In Israel, it was hoisted in Rothschild Boulevard, Tel Aviv, together with many other sexual orientation flags in early June 2018, possibly in honor of the Tel Aviv Pride, which traditionally takes place at that time every year. The earliest currently known example is from Malmö, Sweden, in August 2017. While a number of polyamorous people consider it inadequate and have proposed numerous other designs, this flag still seems to be the only one which has been used in real life so far, although the examples are still very few. Blue stands for openness and honesty among all partners, red for love and passion and black for solidarity with polyamorous people who are forced to hide their relationships from the outside world letter pi is the first letter of Greek prefix /poly (πολυ)/ and its yellow/gold color stands for the value the value of emotional attachment to others. It is a blue-red-black horizontal tricolor with a yellow/gold letter pi (lowercase) in the center of the red field. The original Polyamory Pride Flag was created by Jim Evans in 1995.

The term is applied to the relations regardless of the sexuality of participants. The relations, which may be romantic, sexual, or both, shall not be considered cheating, because their indispensable feature is that they exist with the knowledge and consent of all persons involved. Polyamory is the practice or desire to be in a relationship with more than one person at once. Image by Tomislav Todorović, 16 August 2021
